BACKGROUND
IKO is a family owned business, founded by Isidore Koschitzky in 1951 in Canada who lends his name to the company.
The IKO European Division is a multinational group of businesses that were started up or acquired. The first factory was built in 1972 in Tessenderlo (Belgium) and produced shingle and roofing membranes. The breakthrough of IKO in Europe came in 2001 with the acquisition of the companies that belonged to the Ruberoid group. These market leaders in commercial roofing in their respective countries became part of the IKO group; a group with a long term industrial vision and strategy.
Our European Division focusses on 3 major business entities: Roofing, Waterproofing and Insulation. In all entities we strive to innovate and manufacture top quality products and provide excellent customer service. In Europe, IKO has now 10 manufacturing sites and commercial locations and exports to 96 countries. We employ +1500 employees in Europe.
